Medical virtual endoscopy (VE) is the modern medical imaging technology and computer graphics, digital image processing technology, scientific visualization technology, the virtual reality technology, combining modern information technology of the product. The new technology by CT and MRI scan of the human body of medical equipment acquisition 2D slices through the computer data, the data collected will be generated three-dimensional model of human body each organ after the formation, can be visualized 3D model realize, endoscopic roaming, lesions positioning, and other functions. This technology can simulate the traditional medical endoscope endoscopic for patients, is a new disease diagnosis auxiliary means, because it is a check without contact can tools, so alleviate the suffering of patients, and reduce the risk of bleeding and infection.In this paper, the origin of the virtual endoscopy, principle, advantages and disadvantages point, a large number of documents related to technology development on the basis of study of the virtual endoscopy first, the overall design, including software and hardware composition and working principle of each part module description. On this basis, the virtual endoscopy related key techniques and algorithms study, selection and optimization research. Basically has: 3D reconstruction technique realized in the key algorithms, face paint Marching Cube algorithms, is the key and volume rendering algorithms, such as light tracing algorithms, the actual demand in this system of optimization algorithm improved the defects. Based on this work, this paper also carry a mixed rendering technology explore, realized based on surface rendering and volume rendering algorithm of drawing the mixture.Preliminary experimental results show that the improved algorithm is suitable for the virtual endoscope system designed. The effect is accord with expectations. This paper work aimed at medical image processing, but has significance for other application domain.
