Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a model used to design, develop, deploy and manage discrete logic units (services) in computing environment. It may deploy in a distributive way, combine and utilize application components of loose-coupling rough granulation via network as per the actual demand. Meanwhile, it can be applied and invoked directly, thus effectively controlling artificial dependency of interactions with software agent in the system. SOA requires developers to design application as an assembly of services, to perform ponderation independent of the application, to take into account reutilization of the existing services, or to think about methods for reutilizing their services in other projects. One of the crucial advantages of the "isolated", "independent" and "perfectly-packed" services is that different methods may be used to assemble them into comparatively large-scale service, so as to realize reutilization, namely, means for conducting effective accumulation and reusing knowledge resources for the human being. With SOA model, technique and quality of application software can be improved, and cost for software can be reduced substantially.This thesis profoundly analyzes SOA and Web Services and performs research on their application. On this basis, it also analyzes, designs and realizes the drug managing subsystem of the existing medical system through using service modeling technique. In this way, application and resources of the original system can be converted into standard services and share of resources can be achieve, by means of breaking down the drug managing subsystem into multiple independent services of rough granulation and packing such services.Furthermore, this thesis designs services of the drug managing subsystem and integrates the packed subsystem into the medical system. Such design is conducted via structure layering and function modeling. Based on SOA ideology and cored with pharmaceutical services, the original model for realizing drug managing subsystem is built, and detailed design of such model and description of its realization are performed accordingly. Finally, the drug managing subsystem is put into trial use by users. The result demonstrates that SOA-based drug managing subsystem has fulfilled the requirements of design.
