There are many kinds of independent information channels in visual system.Every one can decompose some recepted informations, such as color information, thenbrain recepts and analyzes decomposed informations. Finally, cognition is completed. This paper is about decomposition and synthesis of visual spatial frequency channel, which is to prove the rationality of visual frequency multi-channel hypothesis andexplain visual perception. The main work and innovative points of this paper involved in the followingaspects:Firstly starting with visual phenomenon, this article analyzed the characteristicsof spatial frequency, then designed the experiments to prove the existence ofmulti-channel of spatial frequency. Visual phenomenon is the result of cognitive, sothe procedure of producing phenomenon by experiments is the procedure of visualcognitive.Different from the decomposition researches of frequency channel before ,we focus on the synthesis of the spatial frequency to explain the procedure of theadvanced visual cognitive, which is the innovation of the paper.Secondly, according to resolution of visual cognition, multi-resolution analysis isused to produce visual channels, so spatial frequency of visual cognition withdifferent resolutions will be obtained.Thirdly, the theory of visual frequency multiple channel is applied to practial. The applications of object recognition, such as face recognition, and edge detection areproved the rationality and advantage of frequency multi-channel visual theory. Forsome visual psychology optical illusions, we can give reasonable explanations by thedecomposition and synthesis of visual spatial frequency theory ,based on. spatialfrequency characteristics.Visual perception is a very complex issue, however the spatial frequencymulti-channel visual theory are consistent with the process of visual perception. On the practical sense, a lot of visual phenomena can be explained, specially has anadvantage of describing visual cognitive at a higher level..
