Recently, the development of communication system made the requirements that is higher integrated, wider broadband and larger frequency range, which drives the RF devices smaller and higher power, with the electric field density of the RF structures rising, brings the multipactor becomeing an increasingly important question. Furthermore,it has been an urgent task that researching the mechanism of multipactor , simulating the processing of multipactor and researching how to reduce and suppress the multipactor.Multipactor effect is an undesired, resonant build-up of electrons inside RF-structures operated under vacuum, with secondary electrons exponentially increasing. However, it is complicated phenomenon because space charge force has not been neglected as the larger number of electrons. It is impracticable to simulate the multipactor effect and predict the space charge force by use of large number of electrons. Thus, particle in cell is mostly used to simulate the multipactor without the consideration of space charge.This paper started with the cause of formation, then researched the multipactor mechanism, influencing factor and suppressing methods of multipactor, with the help of CST Particle Studio. This paper pays attention to the research of the secondary emission electron mode, high power multicarrier multipactor and rectangular waveguide multipactor. Additionally, It has been clarified that how to suppress the multipactor in rectangular waveguide. To obtain the laws of the suppression to the triangular and period rectangular grooved rectangular waveguide, different dimensions mode have been chosen and compared. This paper presents a novel grooved rectangular waveguide that has an effective suppression to multipactor and power transmission character. Also, this paper provides a feasible try to pursue the methods of multipactor suppression.
