In a real-time system, to ensure the real-time in the whole system, require the network transmission being with the real time performance. Traditional network technologies such as Ethernet, FDDI, etc. are of a few weaknesses in real-time applications, which is not conducive to the improvement of overall system performance. Reflective memory network is a high-speed, real-time and deterministic network, therefore, the development of the real-time network interface card based on reflective memory technology, and the organizing reflective memory network have high value in applications.In this thesis, the reflective memory card is designed with SDRAM as a reflection of the reflective memory after detailed study on the work principle of the reflective memory network. In the FPGA , control and status registers of reflective memory card, PCI interface control logic, SDRAM control logic, data access control logic and a number of FIFOs for data cache and control logic is designed to improve data throughput, and avoid the memory read-write conflict.The optical transmission module is designed with high-speed SerDes and fiber optic transceiver, so that the serial transfer rate is up to 1.0625Gb/s. Besides, the 8B/10B encoder and decoder is designed in the FPGA .At the same time SerDes timing control and data parity test logic is realized. four types of network interrupt and the four corresponding interrupt FIFOs is defined, In addition the packet format of interrupt data and general data is designed in order to support the formation of reflective memory network.Reflective memory card communicates with PC through the PCI bus, developes PCI device driver based on Windows XP and provided API interfaces for the application.Finally, the test software is programmed, then by it the reflective memory card is tested, test result shows that the card's functions and performances are stable, meeting the technical requirements and achieving real-time transmission between different nodes.
