With the increasingly sophisticated network technologies, network applications in life more and more widely, a network technology and embedded technology combines remote video monitoring system came into being. This paper describes a high speed based on ARM9 embedded processor and embedded JPEG compression algorithm and efficient real-time video monitoring system. Describes the overall system structure, hardware and software described in detail the design and implementation.Hardware system is mainly used as the core ARM9 embedded development system, including microprocessor chip S3C2410, Ethernet control chip DM9000A, SDRAM and other chips, the use of USB digital camera OV511 as a collection terminal.Software is part of the embedded ARM-Linux as a hardware, operating system, by transplanting improved embedded BOA server as an embedded server and programming interface, using Video4linux video acquisition and processing, video compression using JPEG compression algorithm, video transmission using RTP / RTCP protocol for transmission and display motion video through the Activex control.The authors successfully used a USB camera as a video monitoring system terminal, USB camera and a combination of embedded development board can easily achieve a more intermediate data processing, storage and query functions. The same time, dynamic Web technology to the embedded network surveillance system, using Web browsers and embedded systems to achieve the user interaction. The system has been tested under laboratory conditions relatively stable, clear and smooth images. Achieve the desired design requirements.
