With the rapidly development of network technology and video technology, traditional monitoring systems have greatly developed towards a new developing direction in recent years. Embedded remote video monitoring system based on Internet then appears, which is a combination of corresponding technologies mentioned above. Our task is to design such a system.Using OV511 a type of CMOS image sensor and S3C2410 a type of embedded processor to process analog video into digital MPEG-4 video, and then send the encoded images to embedded video streaming server, so the server can send them to users via Internet. Using S3C2410B, which is ARM9 series microprocessor produced by Samsung co.,Ltd, and embedded linux to construct our video streaming server. Also using the latest Linux kernel Linux-2.4 to update linux. The system only need one IP address, and users can get the images by their Internet browser, authorized users also can operate and configure the system.Experimatation indicates that the video monitor system has excellent performance, and meets the goal of the design.
