RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Technology) is a automatic identification technology that make use of radio frequency signal, which widely have used in diverse areas of life, such as e-passports, EPC (electronic product code) RFID has become a major automatic identification technology. RFID middleware is the backbone of the RFID operation, which shields the diversity of hardware and simplifies the complexity of the application system, which is responsible for exchanging information with the RFID hardware and meanwhile for completing interactive information with the upper application system.The emergence of Ajax has provided us with new ideas of Web application development, so we can develop a Web application as a traditional desktop application. How to use RFID technology for applications based on Ajax patterns and how to seemlessly integrate RFID systems and existing application systems, and other issues, these problems seriously hinder RFID to play its due role. Therefore, the development and application of RFID middleware based on Ajax-model is a worthy research.In this paper, with illustrating RFID technology and the basic principles of RFID middleware and following the "high cohesion, low coupling" principle and the building of RFID middleware based on J2EE platform, RFID middleware will be divided into the terminal of data collection and the server-side.In the side of data collection, which provide a variety of device interface to collect information from the reader that read data from tags and process a preliminary filter. In the data collection terminals,using the framework of JNI or JNative to realize of calling functions of dynamic link library of the reader, and using the JMX management framework to manage readers and using the interfaces of RMI and JMS to communicate with the server-side. In the server-side, using message process components with Sping framework to simply provide interfaces for integrating applications.And ActiveMQ provides JMS interfaces to implement sending or receiving messages to complete the corresponding RFID middleware functions.In the Ajax client ,using ExtJS framework to develop the user screen and using DWR framework to interact with server-side, and by means of ActiveMQ supporting Ajax, the RFID middleware is applied to the membership card consumption system based on the Ajax-model. Implementing RFID middleware in distributed applications.The Sping, Hibernate, DWR and other frameworks used in this paper, which have a in-depth research of the implementation process as well as the related J2EE technologies of JMS, JMX ,and so on. Based on J2EE architecture to implement RFID middleware, which can support RFID technology to apply to distributed applications,it will promote the wider use of RFID technology.
