| Because of coming forth of many broadband access techniques and rapidly increasing of subscribers' number, these operators need a reasonable access platform in order to make a profit. It is becoming an exigent order that operators construct an operatable and manageable broadband network with access authentication and accounting system (AAA). In traditionally, there is one access network and AAA system per access technique. It limits operators to use network resource effectively, optimize that network, and unify the database of subscribers. It also cannot make operators give single bill to a subscriber who has access diverse networks. So there should be a wired and wireless unified access authentication platform for operators aim to solve these problems. This dissertation gives a wired and wireless unified access authentication solution. In that solution, an access controller, which supports multiple authentication technologies, is used to construct the unified authentication platform, so that those problems above can be avoided. In this paper, the system design of the wired and wireless access authentication is given in detail. Both IEEE 802.11i and IEEE 802.16 standard has defined the authentication function in wireless access point (AP or BS). Thus, along with the users'request is focused on wireless mobility, we fully present the general model which is based on roaming alliance in this dissertation.Furthermore, we give a discussion about the design mentality which is used to building a unified AAA structure. A new generic AAA system model for unified access is proposed in this paper. This model supports the distributed Broker structure, and it can realize network access controller based on strategy. Finally, according to the current AAA models, we propose a DIAMETER application structure based on Agent strategy. And, a discussion that the harmonious, opening and unification are the basic requests of AAA network system in future is given in this dissertation. |
