Mobile Internet application and Wireless LAN devices widely spread nowadays,which greatly increases Wireless LAN traffic pressure.Also,a user usually owns various types of Wireless LAN devices.The devices are showing high density distribution trend in the network.The high density distribution of Wireless LAN devices brings heavy load for the network and more frequent collisions,therefore the system performance and user experience become bad.The first problem of the development for Wireless LAN is no longer improving the physical layer theoretical throughput but improving the efficiency of network operation and the real user experience.Thus,it is necessary to bring in many key technologies to promote network efficiency.To this end,the high efficiency Wireless LAN study group was set by IEEE 802.11 working group to design IEEE 802.11ax standard.This paper is detailed to introduce high efficiency Wireless LAN related standards by keeping track of their latest standardizing advances and proposals,including IEEE 802.11ax,IEEE 802.11ai and IEEE 802.11ah.802.11ax provides the technical framework for high efficiency Wireless LAN.What is more,802.11ai and 802.11ah are important parts of 802.11ax.802.11ai designs a fast initial link setup mechanism to accelerate the process for user equipment can access the network.The power management mechanism designed by 802.11ah can increase the network efficiency and extend the battery life of equipment better than the traditional 802.11 standards.On the other hand,this paper deeply studys frequency-domain channel contention mechanism,which is a possible key technology.Furthermore,it proposes a hybrid frequency-domain channel contention mechanism based on the drawbacks of existing typical frequency-domain channel contention mechanism.This paper also makes theoretical analysis and simulation on system performance of HFCC,DCF and existing typical frequency-domain channel contention mechanisms.It turns out that HFCC has significant advantages to the other channel contention mechanisms about collision probability and system throughput in high-density deployment network,which is.more suitable for high efficiency Wireless LAN.
