In high-speed very large scale integrated circuits, with the decrease of circuit characteristic size and the increase of integration scale and clock rate, the effects of delay, distortion, attenuation and crosstalk becomes more and more serious, and are playing more and more important roles in system performance. Due to the factors of skin, edge, proximity effects and lossy substrates, the frequency dependence of interconnect parameters become more and more popular. In order to solve the problems related with modeling and simulation of lossy multiconductor transmission lines(MTL), the dissertation presents some new models and algorithms for transient analysis of interconnects in high-speed circuits. Based on the frequency-dependent interconnect modeling method, we optimize and extend it, and imporve the efficiency and applicability ,so that it can guide the IC design. The contents are arranged as followings.A multi-coupled interconnects modeling method is introduced. The method doesn't need to decouple MTL and can handle the frequency-depended transmisson line easily in modeling nonuniform MTL. There are no convolution items in the formulas. Therefore, the efficiency of the algorithm are improved. Combined with the extended multi-port equivalent circuit model, it makes FDTD fit for any nonlinear terminal network and imporves the modeling applicability. In order to simulate various complex devices which are hard to code, we integrate the modeling method with SPICE. Some people tried a lot in the integration of SPICE and interconnects modeling, but the integration is still far from popularity and efficiency. So we analyze SPICE and FDTD and presents a method to combine them. It does not needs expensive business tools and frequent file access, so it makes the combination achieve the best result.Generalized multi-port equivalent circuit model seperate the simulation of interconnects from other components, so the method can be applied with parallel computing to improve the simulation efficiency a lot. SOCKET is a popular communication technique. Using the SOCKET technique, We send the simulation tasks to several computers at the same time to improve efficiency. So the method is extremely fit for solving VLSI interconnect network.
