With the accelerative growth of high-performance computers, computational electromagnetics made and is still making substantial progress. Among all the methods, the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method attracts more and more attention because of its features.In this thesis, firstly, we summarize the merits of the algorithm and show its feasibility for general electromagnetic simulation. Still we make a rouge comparison and analysis of the popular FDTD software and show the meaning of this thesis. Secondly, we present the principle of the algorithm, including its three key factors: the difference format, the stability condition and the Absorbing Boundary Condition (ABC). In order to make the users know more about the whole process and the logic of the software, we describe the design of the whole software in Chapter 3. In the following chapter we elaborate two kinds of ABC: the Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) and the Mur's ABC, explaining their principles and the methods to realize them in the program. Chapter 5 describes the principles and the calculating methods of the incident plane-wave source and the Radar Cross Section (RCS). In addition, as an integrant part of the general software, user manual of the software is stated in Chapter 6. Then we choose some examples to test the validity of the software, analyze the results and give some advice for the following work. Finally, the whole work of this thesis is concluded.
