With the development of the internet and digital technology, digital media industry with the media content as the core is in the global context of rapid growth, and countries in the world have concern about the digital media technology and industry, also develop national or regional development strategies and promote policy for that. With the economic development, changes in the mode of economic growth and consumption patterns of demand in China, digital media industry are increasingly as a new economic growth key point, new consumption hot spots, and become a hot investment and development market direction.Provinces have established digital content industrial park, focusing on content management system, which leads to the gradual rise of the content management market, various types of content management system was born as well, the system applications gradually diversified developments in business field, content management aspects richer and more intelligent content management tools. However, continued expansion of unstructured content and technology innovation has caused the changes of demand for digital media content from the end-user, which brings the field of digital media into a complex, changing and challenging new environment. Not only content creation, but also conversion, distribution and other processes are inevitably bundled together with comprehensive and effective management. Therefore, the research and development on high performance content management system for digital media, which will be easy to manage, is of great practical significance. This paper studies the key technologies of content management system, mass data processing and metadata definition standards, designs effective data-processing technology and focuses on media content metadata description. According to the field of digital media content management requirements, designing the infrastructure, the system modules and business processes based on the characteristics of content management, and dividing system business logic into four parts, content acquisition, conversion, distribution and metadata, and descibing relationship between these four main modules, in order to deeply analyse the digital media system processes, detailing the process of each node as well, meanwhile used in digital media content management system implementation, and achieving good results. The proposed digital media-oriented content management system is a combination of industry processes, in accordance with market demand for integrated and distribution platform for the whole process. Based on the characteristics of large amounts of data in content management system, analysis of the impact system performance, solutions for mass data processing, to study for mass data processing technology, which improve the database system performance with millions of data.According to the field of digital media features and application requirements, the study of metadata applications in this field, the implementation of XML-based metadata scheme, as the key technology of the definition of metadata standards, provides samples for the realization of the system. This paper mainly discusses the following sections, firstly introduces the basic situation and development trend of the digital media and its technology and content management system, and then describes the system definitions and user needs from business aspect, afterwards introduces the system architecture and module structure from network environment, security, storage, Backup equipment, then focuses on the content management system processes which are fitting business requirements and the implementation of the key technology, at last, presents one whole case to illustrate the implementation of the system process and the application of the key technology in system.
