Single longitudinal mode laser has good characteristics such as coherence and monochromaticity. Therefore, it is widely used in accurate measurement, optical communication, optical frequency scale, high resolution spectroscopy. To get a laser output which haves good monochromaticity, we need restraint multimode oscillation effectively and eliminate the hole-burning effect, and further compress laser linewidth. It is very significant for single longitudinal mode laser which is applicated in many field. In this experiment we adopt the mixed chamber. So we need have a research on frequency stability. This paper analyses many kinds of single longitudinal mode laser's characteristics and the basic principle. With research situation and actual conditions, choosing twisted mode technique to restraint multimode oscillation, considering grating selected principle, design a mixed chamber to be a more ideal Single longitudinal mode output. At the same time we analise various factors'impact on the frequency stability of LD pump Nd:YAG laser, measureing its frequency stability. In the experiment aspect, a single longitudinal mode laser using twisted mode technology is set up and configured. Near threshold, we got mostly 100% single longitudinal mode output. We study how parameters such as input power and prism beam expanding rate impact to the relaxation oscillation, optimizing twisted-mode cavity and extending beam with double prism system which is composed of right angle prism. With grating compressing lasing linewidth,we debug mixed chamber and research the curve of pump power-output lighting power. thereby achieve this experiment which research on LD pump Nd:YAG Single longitudinal mode and its frequency stability.
