The laser technology has a tremendous progress since nineteen sixties, many countries have invested enormous human and material to develop high-performance laser all over the world. In the process of researching high-energy, high-power lasers, with the pump power raised, the threshold will raise, the efficiency will reduce, the refractive index distribution will be non-uniform. These problems are solved by the coherent combining technology. The coherent combining technology can avoid the impact of thermal effects that is caused by the raising of pump power, at the same time, the beam quality will keep relatively good. Based on the coherent combining theory, this paper designed a new coherent combining model, these can give a reference to the future development of coherent combining technology.This paper summarized the coherent combining technology which is applied in reality, and enumerated the effects of every method at the beginning. After that, evanescent wave coupling, diffraction coupling, interferometer coupling are analyzed in mathematics in detail. Compared with the methods mentioned above, a new coherent combining model—the sole cavity self-organized coherent combining technology model is designed. In the past technology models, each laser is an independent work unit, several work materials are put in a sole cavity resonator in the design this paper. Based on the design, each work material is not individual, all material are the interactional entirety. The place rule of work material, laser fiber to select mode and mode locking apparatus are researched in this paper. All above contents laid a foundation for the future discussion.
