With the development of micro-electronics, communication and computer network technology, wireless sensor networks has been widely used in military detection, environmental testing and any other business environment.Sensor nodes need to ensure security of data transmission in some special applications.Thus, the data security exchange technology is one of the important research topics in WSN.In the WSN security mechanisms, authentication and encryption is the most important module which their theoretical research has achieved some success.However, sensor nodes with limited computing resources and storage resources, making the deployment of security mechanisms in the nodes need to consider their storage space, power consumption and other factors. If using a hardware cryptographic module will increase the cost of the node, limiting large-scale applications.In order to reduce sensor node energy consumption, cost, space requirements, this paper have been studied and improved Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithms, and presented a lightweight high-level encryption algorithm.The algorithm conducted a variety of improvements form AES, mainly in the following areas:1. Fewer Algorithm rounds from 10 to 7.2. The polynomial coefficients transformation in MixColumn operations. Use of linear cryptanalysis and differential cryptanalysis method of analysis of IAES security, the results show that the improved algorithm is basically the same intensity as AES algorithm.3. Utilization of polynomial generator of the finite field designs and implements a look-up table methods to improve the speed multiplication of polynomials, this approach only increase 512B storage space in the node.Finally, this paper analysis the proposed improved algorithm with the AES algorithm from the RAM and ROM storage space overhead, CPU clock cycles, network latency in CC2430 wireless node platform.The results show that the improved algorithm in the node RAM and ROM storage space overhead have a small increase, its CPU clock cycles and network latency are superior to AES algorithm.
