In certain sight coverage of the airplane nose, the radar cross section (RCS) of the airborne radar antenna with high gain is above 10dBsm, even 20~30dBsm, larger than the RCS at other sight-angle. To reduce the detected probability of the next-generation stealthy aircrafts and upgrade their survival ability in the battle sky, it is important to deeply investigate the electromagnetic scattering of their airborne active-phased-array antennas. The fast and efficient analysis of the electromagnetic scattering of active-phased-array antennas is the main objective of this dissertation. Valuable progresses are obtained as follows.1,An efficient method based on CST to analyze the electromagnetic scattering of a large active-phased-array is designed. The balance between the computation's precision and efficiency is considered. Simultaneously, the coupling between certain antenna element and its nearby elements in the array and the edge diffraction of the finite antenna array are also considered.2,A quasi-Yagi antenna element for the active-phased-array is designed. Then, its electromagnetic scattering and radiation behavior is simulated.3,The scattering of active-phased-arrays are calculated. Thereafter, the effect of phase shifters in the feed channels on the scattering of active-phased-arrays is researched.Furthermore, the compact broadband and multiband microstrip antennas are investigated, and several compact microstrip antennas for wireless communication are designed.
