Sveval approximate methods are employed to analyze the mode scattering of large scale phased array antennas (PAAs) in this thesis. First of all, the scattering properties with different loads of the Quasi-Yagi antenna working in the X-band are simulated with Ansoft HFSS software. Further more, the antenna mode radar cross section (RCS) of the Quasi-Yagi antenna array with about 2000 elements is obtained with the gain acquired by array synthesizing function in HFSS software. The scattering of the uniform rectangular array with different scanning angle is also investigated. Compared to traditional approximate methods, this technology improves the computational accuracy greatly. One of the advantages of this method compared to the traditional approximation is that it can convenientionaly modified flexible arrays.For the uniform rectangular arrays, the associated RCSs are computed with traditional approximate methods for fast approximation. The mode scattering of the uniform rectangular Quasi-Yagi antenna array with load is analyzed with two approximate methods ---- mathematical approximation and antenna array synthesis method in this thesis, which is effective in engineering design.Waveguide slot antenna is another form of the phased array. One type of high gain waveguide slot antenna working in the X-band is designed in this thesis and the gain pattern and the return loss (RT) are presented. Its total radar cross sections (RCSs) with different loads are analyzed and the contributions of the mode scattering are obtained. For comparison, the scattering of the array is also analyzed with the approximation method mentioned above.Several approximate technologies for mode scattering analysis of phased array presented in this thesis can benefit for the stealth design of the phased array.
