In recent years, with the increasing requirements of military stealth technology, as an integral part of aircraft, antenna stealth technology has become an attractive topic. Nowadays, the study of patch antenna radiation features have been more mature. The patch antenna, because of its small size, light weight, low profile, easy-to-conformal advantages, has great potential in its stealth design.Stealth technology research on microstrip antenna and antenna array is still in its infancy, there is a lot of work to be done. This article studies the stealth characteristics from the following several aspects:1. Study of the stealth effects of different microstrip patch antenna shapes, different incident wave angles and feeding positions. Because microstrip antenna RCS reduction is often done at the expense of its radiation characteristics, in this article, the effects of different patch shapes and incident wave direction are studied without decreasing the radiation feature of antenna.2. Research the influence of different arrayed ways of antenna array on the scattering characteristics of the antenna, the paper compares scattering characteristics of four different linear microstrip antenna array. Meanwhile, propose a novel EBG structure to accomplish multi-frequency electromagnetic bandgap, and apply the EBG structure in 2x2 microstrip array antenna to reduce RCS.3. Study scattering characteristics of carrier-conformal antenna, describe the geometry and scattering properties of NASA Almond; propose sixteen different shapes carrier-conformal microstrip antenna, then compare and analyze their scattering characteristics; research the influence of different arrayed ways of antenna array on the scattering characteristics of the carrier-conformal antenna.
