The Applied Research Of Grid System Designed For Making Order In Typography

Grid system is born with the development of modernist design, and become the basicprinciple of visual composition. However, grid system is not so familiar to Chinese designer, fewdesigners can apply it in practice and in right way. Most designers make misunderstanding andargument by know from the appearance of grid system.This paper is trying to help understanding more in rationality from the grid system inWestern and the functionality in traditional grid system in China, according to analyse the usingof typography in Germen and Chinese traditional books. And then, we can inspired by analysingthe creative using of grid system in typography in Japan.Grid system pursue the same order in function and esthetic though in different ways, andplay an important role in making order for book informations, creating an harmony and delightedreading experience. Chinese designers should always remind out our own tradition and cultureand then design in passion, also we need more rationality to help us making orders in typography.Only if we combined rationality with sensibility together and making perfect visual flow andbeautiful image for reader, the book will be a good design.
