Wireless sensor technology has largely changed the data transmission form of modern sensor field. However the latest ZigBee technology has provide a more convenient connections, more robust network support and low power consumption to wireless sensor technology, making it had much broad application prospects in the field of industrial and intelligent home wireless data collection, etc. But the ZigBee network is a separate network and has its limitations. So it can not exchange data with other existing networks. Using the latest wireless sensor and the computer Ethernet network technology which had great success of current Time, people had developed a lot of remote Ethernet monitoring systems of wireless sensor. System like that has become a researching hotspot in the area of Ethernet network and wireless sensor technology.In the thesis, we first made a brief introduction to the development of wireless sensor network technology. Then we proposed the overall structure of IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee protocol, the basic functions of all protocol levels and topology of ZigBee sensor nodes, which were theoretical preparation to ZigBee sensor applications we designed. Furthermore, the application of Embedded Ethernet TCP / IP protocol stack—uIP were also analyzed. Using CC2430 chip, ARM Cortex-M3 STM32 processor and ENC28J60 Ethernet control chip, a gateway device was designed which made a combination of ZigBee and embedded Ethernet technology. The wireless receive module and sensor were both based on CC2430 chip. The wireless receive module received and transmitted sensor signal between sensor node and STM32 processor, and then the sensor signal is transmitted to Internet monitor program by ENC28J60. The sensor node and gateway hardware circuit was designed, and the PCB was put into use. On the hardware platform which we developed, we made a star network of sensor node and coordinator by programming base on TI Z-Stack protocol stack. On the basis of uIP, we achieved a ZigBee and Ethernet interface by ENC28J60 which was at the control of STM32 processor. We could have wireless information collection, display and storage by inputting the gateway IP address and identification number of sensor nodes.The design may have secondary develop flexibility into an actual product, which can widely use in distributed detection systems. The sensor nodes can be embedded into various devices, apparatus and instruments. It enables such devices exchange information with computer monitoring system through the wireless and wired methods. The experiment result shows that this system works stably and fulfils the requirements of wireless data acquisition and network monitor.
