When every country's media report about the important events abroad, profound changes have taken place in the way of report, the content and the communication idea. This paper takes Chinese and American media as an example, and analysis on the reports about the opposite party's disastrous event. We use the Case Analysis Method and Content Analysis Method to make an intercultural comparative analysis on the cases. And in this paper, there has a study on the expression forms of realizing self-recognition and mutual recognition through reporting others by comparing the article about hurricane in New Orleans in 2005 in China's "People's Daily", the report which talked about the earthquake in Yushu, China in 2010 by the U.S. "New York Times," the SARS event in China reported by the U.S. "New York Times," the "911" events in the "People's Daily" reports, the "314" event in Tibet which reported by the U.S. "New York Times," and some reports refer to the others between Chinese and American media. This paper emphasizes on the influence of the others'recognition from local perspective, the varieties expression forms of self-recognition when reporting others during Sino-US media, the breakthrough point and the expression forms of mutual recognition in intercultural communications, the conditions and expression forms of mutual recognition under the common profit, the obstacle to realizing the mutual recognition and the relationship between realizing mutual and self-recognition.This paper based on the intercultural comparative analysis, analyze the mutual reports about the other's important events between China and America, take social culture's traditional "Identity" theory as paramount and focuses on the influence on the others'recognition from local perspective, and study the realizing mutual and self-recognition in intercultural communications. Finally draws some basic conclusions as follows:In order to pursue more rational news communication of Globalization, the China and US journalist should regarding the discourse method, the report content and the communication idea from the other party's view when reporting others. Intercultural news communication should breakthrough the ideology, the single frame and try to build rational discourse power and Intercultural news communication of "local" and" the other"; This still remains the basic tendencies for media to realizing self-recognition by reporting others. Under specified conditions, even though the mutual recognition which spring from common profit was weak, but it exists objectively. Though there are big differences in China and US about the ideology, values, culture, communication theory and so on, however, the uncomplicated values such as the urgings toward peace, compassion and yearn for the true, the good and the beautiful, all these homely truth above make it is possible for realizing the mutual recognition. We should use more rational identity negotiation skill during the intercultural communications, when we empathize with the other party, we should also pay attention to find the breakthrough point of mutual recognition in communications. The identity negotiation skill will be going smoothly and mutual recognition will be easier to access with the mutual understanding or trust between both sides.In this paper, there are the following meanings of guidance:how to overcome the public prejudiced opinion, how to realize mutual recognition by kinds of effected breakthrough point, how to avoid the tendency of one-sided self-recognition and so on. All these things above are the further research subjects of Intercultural news communication.
