Close-Range Photogrammetry is one important branch of Photogrammetry and sensitive remoting.The target whose imagine can be taken may be used as the object of close-range photogrammetry,so as to obtain the target point group of three-dimensional coordinates. Compared with other measurements,the advantage of close-range photogrammetry is that it's non-contact, no harm measured object, non-interference in the natural state of the measured object, we can work under adverse conditions, the measurement of the amount information, fast and easy storage and can be reused, especially for the goal that contains with a large number of measuring points With the development of Close-range Photogrammetry technology, its application had become increasingly widespread. Using the close-range photogrammetry applications in forestry, even if you need not chop down the standing tree, you can measure the height of standing them, the diameter and the accumulation of any site. It provide a comprehensive analysis of the growth conditions of trees and also brings a more convenient and accurate approach for forest inventory.The steps of measuring tree "taking digital camera photo-extracting tree's boundary-calculating diameter, tree height and accumulation ".This paper use common digital carema as photographic equipment.First of all,the paper proceed how to take photos so as to reduce the impact of the experiment when taking photos to meet this experimental accuracy.Then the paper extracting the edge of the tree after processing on the digital photos. Finally,reffering to the measured data under the principle of equal proportion of to get tree height and diameter at any position and then calculate the accumulation.The author took 20 photos,measured the diameter and height of 20 trees by the close-range Photo grammetric, and calculate their accumulations.And then used the traditional method to test the standing tree's height and diameter.Compared with two sets of data,it got the accurancy of measure tree by the close-range Photogrammetric technology.The result shows that on Leaflets digital photos for threshold segmentation and select the appropriate structural elements of the mathematical morphology operations to achieve extracting the edge detection for digital photos. Combined with known data,through a series of mathematical statistical analysis to output tree height,diameter and accumulation.The experimental method is feasible for the Forestry Inventory and it brings a more convenient and accurate method.
