In this article, we at first have introduced the foundation of mathematical morphology and some operator commonly used in mathematical morphology, and some instance and demonstration during image processing. At completeness in theory, we give the base of mathematical morphology-complete lattice, and some nature of complete lattice. The emphases of this article are from chapter two to chapter four.In chapter two, we have discussed a concrete application when popularizing the complete lattice to complete semi-lattice, namely the application of detecting the fast moving object in videos. In this application, we considered the moving complement. We all know that during the process of making a video recording, the moving of the camera is unavoidable. The pretreatment that we consider the moving complement is to reduce the calculating amount. And in the after treatment, we have considered t influencing of "cavity", so we consider the filling of the "cavity". These are we discussed in chapter two.In chapter three, we have discussed improvement of watershed algorithm, In this chapter, At first we consider filtering the gradient image of referencing in order to reduce excess segmentation due to tiny edge and noise of image, Secondly we do marker using he histograms of image. At last, in order to get better segmentation, we consider uniting the results of segmentation.In chapter four, we have discussed the morphological detecting edge algorithm based on multi-structure element and multi-scale. We all know that in image, there are all kinds of edge, but in traditional detecting edge algorithm, we only use one structure element, so in result image, there are one kind of edge. So we use many structure element to detect the image edge, there are many kinds of structure in result image. The consideration of multi-scale is based on the ratio to the edge, so there is structure of different ratio in edge image.At the end of the article, we have given out the development history of mathematical morphology, and some questions in this mathematical morphology and its trend of this subject.
