This study concentrated on SMS communication among coastal cities in China, selecting Guangdong, Shanghai, Tianjin as three representative samples. With the method of computer-assisted telephone interview, the research obtained 936 samples and concluded two points:(1) By classifying SMS communication into "emotional" and "affair", it is found that the emotional type is dominant in SMS world, considering the personal relationship as the main building of social ties; (2) Through SPSS, the survey get an OLS liner regression model on the basis of relevance analysis. The model contains message sender's gender; the" family "," colleagues or classmates, "and "friend" are three types of text-mates that aspect; the sender's preference on mobile voice is also a single factor that decides not using SMS as emotional tool, while preference on SMS not. (3) Text-mates and linkmen on internet are identical, which validates the conclusion that the mobile phone can substitute the net. (4) Message texts embody "Mian-zi" culture in traditional comity of China and the distortion of games. SMS among Spring Festival in China is regard as a normative contact and a collective experience.
