With the explosive growth of Internet these years, more and more new applications are booming, the traffic of Internet is growing rapidly. The characteristics of the Internet is becoming increasingly complex, network performance is getting people's attention. As a result, network measurement technology came into being. It's a technology which is used to obtain the network performance indicators, identify and verify the law of the internet by means of measurements. The measurement data has important reference value for the analysis of network behavior and solve network problems, forecast new business. So, whether it is from the researchers, network operators or from the ordinary user's point of view, these efforts are essential.The laboratory existing network measurement platform-TRAK using distributed architecture, multi-point deployment, unified management, preliminarily realized network layer performance parameters such as time delay, lost package and dithering calculation, etc, and presents measurements through the browser statically. However, the platform in order to apply the actual measurement environment, in functionality, performance, security, fault tolerance etc, there are still many deficiencies.The subject based on TRAK, considering the actual network measurement needs, adds an application layer measurement module of MDI. Besides, some modules of the system are reconstructed and functions are strengthened by the needs of reliability, safety and fault tolerance, ease-of-use and other aspects. After completing the system, we carried an integrated testing in the IPTV lab of China Unicom. The test result is stable, clear and accurate.The thesis consists of several parts:First, the subject research background and the network performance measurement technology overview are introduced. Then, the shortage of the existing distributed network measurement system is carefully analyzed. After this, design and implementation of distributed network performance measurement managing platform functional enhancement is emphatically introduced and integration testing results in real network environment is displayed. Finally, some problems existing in the system are explained, and the probable direction of the study in future is proposed.
