Design And Implementation Of IMS Multimedia Sharing Service Modes

With the development of mobile communication technology and applications, telecommunication services are trending towards integrated multimedia information services based on fixed-mobile convergence or a combination of voice and Internet applications. As a communication framework, IMS created a new telecom business mode. IMS is a new multimedia service development mode which provides fast, easy, flexible and dynamic service development environment; it makes service development easier and significant time reduction in the development cycle, which increases the profit of investment. IMS also facilitates third-party developers to develop new services. Althogh IMS technology is becoming mature, global IMS commercialization is still at an early stage, and is gradually evoluting to the high stage. With the development of communication technology and IMS markets, there will be more and more requirements in IMS services. IMS services, especially IMS multimedia services, still need further study.This paper reseaches on IMS multimedia sharing sevice modes. Multimedia sharing service allows service users to share multimedia in a variety of multimedia sharing modes with one or more IMS multimedia sharing service users through IMS multimedia service system (but not limited to) using an IMS multimedia sharing client. This paper divides IMS multimedia sharing service into two modes, one is basic mode, the other is extended mode.It further divides basic mode into point to point mode and point to multipoint mode, and divides extended mode into real-time mode and non-real-time mode. This paper concretely studies and designs the functions and service flows for each IMS multimedia sharing service mode, and gives the signaling flows.Then, the paper develops IMS multimedia sharing service client software and application server/multimedia resource function software. Finally, it builds IMS multimedia sharing service system to demonstrate and test what is researched and designed for IMS multimdia sharing service before, verifying its feasibility.
