In recent years, with the continuous development of the electronics industry, newappliances and communications devices can be added to the home network. However,due to interconnection between the devices cannot be realized easily which lead tocannot share the information of devices. This not only caused great inconvenience tothe user, but also a waste of storage and computing resources. Therefore, the conceptof digital home came into being. In digital home smart appliances connected eachother through the network. By exchanging the information and data that ultimatelyachieved interoperability between the smart appliances. Combined with thedevelopment of the digital home, multimedia resource sharing becomes one of theimportant directions of the development of digital home industry. As early as the endof the last century, Microsoft proposed UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) technologyand obtained the support of the major manufacturers. UPnP technology provides theinteroperability standard protocol mechanism for the digital home devices terminal.Thesis analyzes the basic theory of the UPnP, the abstract description of thefunctional unit, the hierarchical structure of UPnP protocol stack, as well as thefunction of related protocols. It defines the basic behavior of the UPnP and UPnPbasic behavior of the interaction process in detail. On this basis, the paper focuses onthe analysis of multimedia UPnP AV application framework, laid the theoreticalfoundation for the realization of the multimedia resource sharing system.Then it using the UML (Universal Modeling Language) describes the model of thesystem. UML is an object-oriented and visualization system analysis modelinglanguage. Static model and dynamic model of the system is established through it.Through these models, paper analyzes the object and use cases of the staticcharacteristics as well as the state of the system converting process and the interactionof the message sequence of the dynamic characteristics.Based on the theory of UPnP and UML model of system, it designed the software structure and determined the various functional modules of the system. The paperanalyzes the process of implementation of the various functional modules, drawingprogram flow chart of each module, focusing on analysis of the data management formultimedia resource information. And it use Developer Tools for UPnPTMTechnologyto build a test platform and test the features of the system.The final test results show that the multimedia resource sharing system can beshared multimedia resources, different machines to play and easy-to-use. The systemhas a certain guiding significance and reference value for the future development ofsimilar projects.
