With the rapid development of precision instruments manufacturing industry, steel rolling strip thickness accuracy become an important technical indicators, and thickness accuracy in addition to mill about outside their own properties and thickness control strategy is also relevant. Because the original context of classical control theory has been lagging behind the control strategy, needed a new control theory is applied to the results in the mill thickness control strategy to achieve the purpose of improving the control accuracy.In this paper, the research object is Wuyang Iron and Steel rolling mill plant 4200mm hydraulic AGC control system of Hebei Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd. Because the control strategy directly determines the rolling mill process efficiency, thus improving the control strategy to become a key element to improve the system.Based on the analysis of the original thickness thickness thickness of feedback automatic control technology, intelligent control based on the proposed combination with the PID control algorithm and the fuzzy PID control PID control algorithm for single neuron, and in an established mill hydraulic AGC control system model using MATLAB software based on the above two control strategies on a merit-based selection, simulation results show that the fuzzy PID control to improve the mill thickness control accuracy is better than single neuron PID control. After determinded the control strategy, based on the use of Siemens S7-400PLC main controller of the system overall design, including hydraulic pressure systems, detection systems and communication systems. Then the hardware in the system, based on the use of STEP7 software system software design, focusing on the design of the system in the STEP7 software fuzzy PID control strategy , also under the man-machine interface of WinCC and procedures necessary to design the interface .Practice has proved the fuzzy PID control strategy applied to the mill hydraulic AGC control system enables the rolling mill process greatly improved the accuracy of strip thickness to meet the technical requirements , with a wide range of applications.
