Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which is a self-organizing network consists of tiny sensor nodes that can wireless communicate with each other to perform sensing, data processing and storage cooperatively, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information. It can be used to transfer information to the sink or the terminal users. They are widely used in many fields. In the wireless sensor network data collection process, a large number of sensor nodes collect and sent data to sink node through multi-hop manner. So nodes close to the base station will died earlier and eventually cause network break and serious energy waste, this phenomenon is called the "energy hole" phenomenon. So how to prolong network lifetime and avoid "energy hole" becomes one of the hotspot for wireless sensor networks. The reasonable and effective node deployment of wireless sensor is important method to balance energy consumption and improve network efficiency. This paper studies the node network deployment to avoid "energy hole" and maximize the network efficiency in the linear wireless sensor networks and the pane wireless sensor networks. The research content and the achievement are as follows:(1) Based on the correlation of transmission distance, the amount of data collection and energy consumption, presenting the strategy based on node transmission distance and relay node deployment strategy to avoid "energy hole" phenomenon in the wireless network. At the premise of ensuring network coverage, deploying relay nodes between sensor nodes and balance the energy consumption of all nodes. This not only reduces the amount of data collection and transmission, but also to minimize the energy consumption and avoid the "energy hole". It is a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) to solve best network utility of the linear network in restricted conditions. We got the approximate solution of NP hard problem and gain the maximum efficiency and optimum node network deployment plan by the Combination of controlling the variables and exhaustive search. For the linear wireless sensor networks, theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the deployment plan not only be able to avoid energy hole, and also effectively improve network efficiency, compared with the uniform deployment algorithm and the non-uniform deployment algorithm.(2)In the wireless sensor plane network, through analysis we gain such conclusion that data transfer scheme must be solved before the node deployment plan. This paper presents a simple transmission scheme:Each column nodes only vertically transmit data and don't horizontally transfer data, until to the base station or the sensing node in the first line. The nodes in the first line transmit data to the next node near the base station data. This transmission scheme greatly simplifies the complexity of node deployment in the wireless sensor plane network. More importantly, we can take advantage of the node deployment plan for linear network. For the plane wireless sensor networks, theoretical analysis and simulation results show that this node deployment has a big advantage in the small network.
