With the improvement of Doppler Weather Radar Network, radar is playing a important role in Short-term Nowcasting. However, the current Doppler radar mostly emit conventional simple pulse, information got by radar is limited. With the development of Software Radio and Digital Signal Processing, Multi-Modulation Signal Weather Radar Technology (such as LFM, Phase Encoding, etc)has gradually developed up. Compared with the traditional Doppler Radar, the Multi-Modulation Signal Weather Radar provide better detection performance, and have better results for the prediction of mesoscale weather disasters. But the relationship between pulse echo signal of Multi-Modulation Signal Weather Radar and the meteorological disasters is still in the research stage, the receiving and analyzing work of pulse echo signal data becomes very important.Based on actual project requirements, this paper systematically discusses receive-side software solutions. And combined with signal analysis software, this paper introduced the relevant computer algorithms of digital signal processing. Designing this software system is implemented with the idea of Software Radio and used digital signal processing solutions. The system includes the Agilent Signal Source control software (Agilent Signal Source used as receive system local oscillator and receive system IF Testing Signal Source), Weather Echo Signal Information Extraction Software and Weather Echo Signal Information Analysis Software. Structured Programming to facilitate follow-up feature upgrades was used for the system development, the entire system using Visual C++as a development platform, which implemented of high efficiency and modify or upgrade code is easy. This Software System has successfully achieved the goal of the signal source control and the pulse echo data extraction, storage, and analysis. After extensive simulation test, the system is operating well overall. The system is helpful to the development of the Multi-Modulation Signal Weather Radar algorithms.
