| Because of its negativity and destruction,the catastrophic events got great attention from the news media.No matter natural disasters or man-made disasters, its existence and motions were opposite of human being promoting social development purposes, therefore, disasters for mankind had profound implications. This paper took five newspapers in Wuhan for example, tried to using content analysis of mainly quantitative research and supplementary qualitative research and throughing journalism,communication and semiotics related theories to explain the use and effect of news photos in catastrophic reports. The text was mainly divided into three chapters. The first chapter was the present analysis, which was mainly to give a brief explanation of the status and function of news photos in catastrophic reports currentlly. The second chapter was the key of this paper, which could be divided into three parts:one was the case analysis, which throughing first-hand materials' analysis and statistical and integration, with specific forms and data to objectively render the basic conditions of news photos about wenchuan earthquake of wuhan five newspapers;two was comparative analysis, by comparing the universality and individuality wuhan five newspaper picture-using of summarizing its picture-using features; three was effect analysis,which throughing the previous cases analysis and comparison analysis to summarize using effect of news photos about wenchuan earthquake "the mourning day" of wuhan five newspapers. The third chapter was the overall thinking, by the first and second chapter summed up the useful ways to optimize news photo's using effect in catastrophic reports, then provided examples and reference for domestic media in the catastrophic reports picture-using. |
