Securities Industry Disaster Backup & Recovery System Design And Implementation

With the development and widespread popularization of IT (Information technology), China's security market has made great progress. At the meantime, almost every securities company wants their data to sustain reliable, but their data is still facing various threats. Generally, companies can deal with logical data loss by regular data backup or through the application of the cluster to ensure high availability. However, many companies are beginning to realize that logical or local data protection is no longer enough to ensure business continuity. Loss may result from planned downtime such as the comprehensive maintenance of the site or unplanned downtime such as fires, floods and other natural disasters or even terrorist activities and war-induced disasters. Center data loss will seriously affect the operation of the company; therefore, we must establish a reliable data center-level protection.This article introduces the disaster backup and recovery principles, with list of commonly used disaster backup and recovery techniques. And this article analyzes several disaster backup and recovery standards. A detailed shortcomings and deficiencies analysis is given based on a certain securities company disaster recovery system (Phase I). The main problems of the original disaster recovery system are:the need to improve disaster recovery mode, the need to improve daily management level, insufficient data backup capacity, inefficient data backup recovery system, cannot satisfy the growing data backup scale. According to the actual situation of the securities company, the article describes a detailed improvement plan. In the refreshed plan, new equipments, like the VTL and virtual machines, are adapted to the disaster backup and recovery process. Through the implementation of the new plan, the securities company has achieved a "Three Centers in Two Locations" disaster backup and recovery mode, thereby increasing the level of security throughout the entire information system and also enhanced the business continuity.The author had a great honor to be involved in a disaster recovery system, PhaseⅠand PhaseⅡproject of a certain securities company. Through the whole participation, the author has a certain realization of disaster backup recovery. After a period of accumulation, I have a certain understanding of the securities company's disaster recovery planning and construction, disaster recovery structure, operation and maintenance management.The backup and disaster recovery project provides us a great chance of enhancing the level of awareness and attention. The implementation of disaster recovery program will effectively improve the securities company's resistance capabilities against various risks. Systematic analysis and design implemented in the disaster backup recovery process has reference value for the choice of key technique and structure design.
