With the rapid development of Computer Network Technology in Non-material society, interface design has evolved into a new important member in Art design area. Interface design, including structural design, interaction design and visual design as three parts. In this paper, the visual design part of interface design studied is displayed in the front and closest part which contacted with users. Graphical User Interface as a major non-material design product, which changed from the Character Interface.Graphical User Interface is a cross-type discipline, which also connected with psychology, sociology, information science, communications, art design etc. As media, Graphical User Interface bring people's daily communication is not only a mass of information, but also a symbol of human symbolic behavior awareness activities. Symbol is a carrier of information communication between people and things or people. As a medium of convey information and thought, Graphical User Interface can make people which contains different cultural backgrounds communicate with each other without text obstacles. Therefore, the study of semiotics in Graphical User Interface can help to improve and optimized operational performance, so that the operational processes can be more friendly and humane, reduce the user's cognitive burden. In this paper, thought the theoretical study of semiotics Pierce, respectively substitute the "the Medium", "the Object", "the Interpretant" into Graphical User Interface with examples analysis. Using psychology, communication, aesthetics, cognitive ergonomics etc. disciplines, in order to dig out the meaningful practical coding rules and design patterns of Graphical User Interface.
