A Preliminary Study On The Exhibition Of Unearthed Relics

This thesis discusses the issue of the exhibition of unearthed relics.The thesis can be divided into six parts.The first chapter is an introduction. Chapterâ… firstly reviews the concept and connotation of relics in different periods, and make a preliminary definition of unearthed relics, point out the differences between unearthed relics and those relics handed down for generations.Then the chapter discloses a phenomenon: some domestic museums put too much emphasis on the artistic value of exhibits, while ignoring the historical value and scientific value of the exhibits, proposes to the issue of the thesis. Finally, to elaborate the research object and research methods of the thesis.The second chapter discourses upon the display of unearthed pottery.lt probe the contents of exhibition of the unearthed pottery from three aspects, those are historical value, scientific value and artistic value.The historical value of unearthed pottery is mianly in its function, the scientific value is reflected in its workmanship,the artistic value is in terms of its shape and decoration. The third chapter expounds the display of unearthed jade.This chapter probes into the contents of exhibition of the unearthed jade from three aspects, those are historical value, scientific value and artistic value. The historical value of unearthed bronze is mianly in its function, the scientific value is reflected in its workmanship,the artistic value is in terms of its shape and decoration.The fifth chapter are case studies.According to the exhibition and display units of Nanjing Museum, this chapter puts forward specific recommendations for the three kinds of unearthed relics.For the display of the three kinds of unearthed relics, the following issues are should be considered:(1)The nature of museums,geographical features,museum collections and many other factors should be considered for the topic of exhibition of unearthed relics,in order to take up the mission of telling the story of Chinese history.(2)The display should be easy to understand,try to take into account audiences of different levels.(3)The display should be rich and vary,to pay attention to dynamic exhibition,to make a point of atmosphere of display, to enhance the interaction between spectators and museums,so to do education through the "leisure visit" to museums.The last part is the epilogue, it conducts a review and summary of the thesis,to point out the shortcomings and the direction of future efforts,and looks forward to more people concerned about the display of unearthed relics.
