For the use of leather products in our country has a very long history,as early as in primitive society,people started to use animal skins as tools to keep out the cold,with the development of ancient society,the application of leather is not restricted to the clothing,also included in the articles for daily use,transportation,military,culture,art and other aspects,is closely related to the development of human society.However,because the main components of leather protein are easily affected by light,heat,acid,alkali,salt and other adverse factors and degradation,so it is difficult to preserve the leather relics.Among them,water saturation is one of the common diseases of excavated leather relics,that is,leather relics unearthed from tombs in south area.This type of leather relics buried groundwater of the damp environment for a long time,acid,alkali,salt in the water can make leather protein is degraded in the cultural relics,leather state cultural relics is often very fragile,when cultural relics unearthed archaeological excavations make these leather,the external environment in huge change,lead to full water leather progressive loss of substance in the water,grease and other cultural relics,the resulting dehydration hardening,the deformation problem of leather cultural relics of the health preservation had a huge impact.It is not conducive to the long-term preservation,exhibition and scientific research of leather cultural relics.Therefore,it is urgent to improve the problems of water-saturated leather cultural relics,such as decay and fragility,hardening and deformation after loss of water,and partially restore the properties of leather cultural relics.Due to the rare unearthed quantity of waterlogged leather relics,which cannot be widely used in experimental research.Therefore,through three common aging methods:thermal oxygen aging,acid hydrolysis aging,alkali hydrolysis aging,Simulate the typical characteristics of waterlogged leather cultural relics,prepare simulated samples(waterlogged and dehydration),and compare the characteristics of artificial aging samples by scanning electric microscopy,depth of field microscope and infrared spectrum,to improve the effectiveness of the experiment.After determining the simulated aging samples,the emphasis of this study is to fill and reinforce the samples and evaluate the effect.In this paper,a large number of literature on leather filling and reinforcement were reviewed.Based on the related technology of protein retanning and filling,single factor analysis and orthogonal experiment were carried out to optimize the deterioration characteristics of unearthed leather relics.The results showed that the optimal matching conditions of filling and reinforcement agent are as follows:the dosage ratio of epoxy resin and collagen is 0.2,the temperature is 60?,and the reaction time is 5h,the tearing degree of the leather simulation sample increases to 174mN(the tearing degree of the sample before reinforcement is 18mN).The results show that the filled collagen fibers become plump and round,and the fibers become compact due to the filling of reinforcing agent.The mechanical strength of leather samples in two different storage states is significantly improved.In conclusion,the filling and reinforcing agent can play a supporting and reinforcing role in the interior of leather simulation samples,significantly improve the properties of leather,and pave the way for the subsequent protection and application of waterlogged leather cultural relics.
