The rapid modeling technique by example is a hotspot in the field of 3D computer modeling researches. In the fields of movie, animation, 3D games, etc, rapid modeling technique is strongly needed to acquire diversified production of animation characters. The investigation of various example-based modeling methods is carried on in this dissertation first. Then, two methods are presented to achieve diversified generation of animation characters, from viewpoints of model fusion and micro-deformation respectively in terms of animation characters'features. Furthermore, corresponding applications and algorithm features of these two methods are researched. Based on upper works, the system which randomly generates diversified animation character models is established finally. Meanwhile, the automatic generation effects of diversified scenes are shown.The main contents in this dissertation are as follows:(1) Considering the case of the low-model characters'sparse vertices and extensive use of maps, a simply method based on harmonic mapping is proposed to simplify mesh connection process and improve the efficiency. At the same time, map synthesis is used to preserve the features of the source's map and generate new transitional local map. So the completeness of data is guaranteed. And it is of great significance for data reuse and diversification of models.(2) Faced the needs of diversification on congeneric characters in animation and computer game fields, and also to satisfy strict constraints of time and space complexity, methods based on micro-deformation are proposed to generate diversified models. These methods include reference-based deformation and path-based deformation. They are both able to guarantee the good efficiency and smaller cost. The results enrich the scene and meet the expectations of uncertain characters'shapes in different terminal.(3) Based on the methods mentioned above, a diversified random generation system is developed for animation characters'modeling. First, the database is built to store all parameter patterns with ifs. Secondly, under the requirements of scene, many parameter patterns are loaded randomly. Finally, according to the complete information of parameter pattern, results are analyzed and reappeared correctly. In this way, the animation characters'scene composed of all results is shown automatically and suitably.
