Wireless Mesh Network referred to as WMN is a multihop broadband wireless network. Any wireless devices can also be AP and router in the WMN. Each node can send and receive signals, communicating with one or more other nodes directly. Therefore, the WMN has the advantages of high speed, high capacity, easy configuration, low price and stable performance. In addition, heterogeneous wireless network can be interconnected via mesh network. The wireless mesh network routing technology is one of the key technologies and a research focus now.In this thesis, the multi-path routing protocols are reaserched. Several typical multipath routing protocols are discussed. Then, a high delivery rate and stability routing metric algorithm is proposed based on ETX routing metric and the idea of entropy. Compared with the ETX and entropy routing metric, the simulation results show that the improved routing metric has better performance in the frequency of route discovery, delivery ratio and delay. And then, we propose a decoupled multipath routing protocol based on the AODV-DM. The protocol considers the interference of paths. It can determine multi-paths only replying PPEP packets one time by adding the intermediate nodes of the selected main path in the RREP packets. From the results of simulation, we can see that the improved routing protocol and AODV-DM can take on more business traffic than AODVM. And compared with AODV-DM protocol, the improved routing protocol has an advantage in the aspects of the routing discovery time and routing overhead.
