With the development of wireless communication technology, Mobile Ad HocNetworks(MANETs) are widely used in many fields because of its characteristics suchas distribution, self-organization, survivability and so on. With the growing demand ofpeople, QoS guarantee in MANETs is becoming increasingly prominent.A multipath routing protocol in MANETs with QoS guarantees is presented in thisthesis. This routing protocol is based on cross-layer design, and combines theadvantages of both table-driven and on-demand routing protocols, that is, the adoptionof different processes of routing establishment within and outside the range of2hops.Then a routing selection and bandwidth allocation algorithm based on linearprogramming is proposed. In this algorithm, since flow paths are selected andbandwidth allocation is made according to QoS requests, it is able to provide QoSguarantees to traffic flows. At last, the effectiveness of the multipath routing protocolwith QoS guarantees is proved by network simulation. Simulation results show that therouting protocol can adapt to the dynamics and instability of MANETs. Additionally,QoS guarantees of the traffic are achieved effectively, and the performance of theoverall networks is improved.
