The Design And Implementation Of The United Billing System Of Value-Added Service

The billing system is an important component of the Value Added Service platform. It will collect the data about the services and resources that subscribers used, then compute the fee that the subscribers should pay for the service they subscribed. At last, it will generate and commit to telecom operator the bills of using value added services for subscribers.In this paper, the design and implementation of a united billing system supporting multi-services is illustrated. It could adapt to the demand for a new service or the change of the billing policies by minor modification or adding a relevant program into the system. So it could reduce the complexity of the work about billing and guarantee the accuracy of the fee computation. By analyzing the functions and problems of the non-united billing systems, the author gathered the demonds of the united billing system, then descibed the design and implementation of the united billing system which meet the demonds.There are mainly 4 parts in this paper. The first part introduces some basic knowledge related, including the conceptions of the value added service, how to billing for a value added service and the related technologies used in the system design and implementation. The second part analyze the requirements for the united billing system. The most important content is within the third part, which discuss the design and implementation of the united billing system of value added service, and introduce the key issues in design and the system tests. At last, the author summarized the works he had done duing the postgraduate, and give the next tasks to improve quality of the united system.
