Design And Implementation Of Dynamic Content Delivery Client Softwear For Mobile Phone

Dynamic Content Delivery (DCD) is a new service of dynamic content updating through mobile wireless network, it is a news reading service from China Mobile. By using the DCD service, the users can obtain the channel and get data freely as they want. The content fee is relatively low (if signed by contract, it could be free), it is very practical service and has a great potential in market.The DCD system is consisted by two sub-systems:network system and user system. The server will provide all the contents to users'mobile appliance. Also, the user himself can get the data by some pre-settings (e.g., based on time or event). The content data from the server is depending on the channel of the users based on their preferences. The content is on-line updated and controlled by the network. This service is designed for wireless operators to promote their data services. Currently, the China Mobile requires their phone providers to support this service, which is mandatory service in the future. For the handset provides, it is very necessary to design the hardware to support this service for China Mobile. Based on the requirements from by sides, designed and implemented client software in this article. The key components are as follows:1. Based on the regulations of content distribution and port service from China Mobile, also the multi-platform of the handset and its UI characteristics. Using survey from users as the basic consideration for the software.2. Analyze the data flow and the characteristics of the handset. To design the software structure base on the requirements. The system is consisted by:core design, abstract port layer, UI, network connection, data interpretation and display of content.3. Complete the core design and other connections between other modules. Test the system.4. Based on the requirements from the service provider to test its performance and reliability. The test results satisfy the provider and users in coverage, applicability and reliability.In the fierce competition of telecommunication, with no doubt, the data service is a key service for the service providers to promote its market share. By providing the best service to the users, the providers get the better reputation, more users and better recognition. Therefore, by designing a reliable user service component is a requirement from the service provider for the handset providers.
