During recent years,mine tragedies have been happened frequently.The focus of the issue is how to rescue the people.The emphasis thing is to find the trapped personnel located.Therefor,we need to design a personnel positioning system to improve rescue efficiency.This paper design the mine monitoring system base on LabVIEW(a graphically based programming language).It realized Signal collection, signal separation, signal analysis processing and personnel positioning functions,and so on.At one time the combined programming technology of Lab VIEW and MATLAB,design a separation algorithm and localization algorithm, improve the capacity of signal processing and more efficiency. Meanwhile, the system compose by the initialize state,product state,analysis state,location state and stop state, and transform between the various states. The state machine in Lab VIEW make the fundamental programming architectures more clear and concise.And the system has good expansibility.The key part of the system is the positioning algorithm. It use for the time difference of arrival form the passive detection technology. First, the starting point is estimated by the high order cumulant. Second, time delay estimation is estimated by LMS algorithm. Finally, the four-point spatial location algorithm complete the final determination of the sound source location.In the laboratory, this system has been tested successful, its function and data processing ability accord with the design requirements. The system can effectively pinpoint the source location and has certain practical value.
