Since 1990s to early 21st century, the rapid increasment of the mobile users and the booming of the value added services represent the peek of the development of the telecom network. At the same time, the high-speed development of Internet brings many challenges to the telecom network. Through the expensive device, the high device redundancy availability, the complicated and relatively static network architecture and the complex way of service deployment make the extension of the telecom network difficult and expensive; The telecom network with low flexibility is hard to adjust. It could not fit for the'tidal effect' brought by a lot of services, and is with a very low performance-price ratio. Generally speaking, the telecom network is in need of finding a new architecture with low cost, high availability to optimize the relationship between the service user model and the allocation of network resouces by using generic computing devices. In this paper, Distributed Service Network (DSN), which is aiming to support convergence services and able to support carrier-class operations is introduced and studied. The three-layer architecture of DSN, including the access layer, the core-control layer, the application layer, is studied first. And functions of core-control layer are outlined with its user data oriented message processing strategy. Secondly, the design, implementation and test of servers in the core-control layer are brought forward. In the design phase, the overall module division is introduced. Message processing module, which is the most important module, is divided into three parts:the call control module, the register control module and the short message control module. The message-driven middleware TISONWare is used in the implementation phase, which makes the development concentrated on the design and implementation of state machine, and lets the creation, resource recycle and message trasmition processed by the middleware. In addition, the open source P2P protocol, openChord, is introduced into the system, which provides the management of node joining, quiting, and data distribution. Another important work of this paper is the improvment on openChord to fit it into DSN server's requirements. At last, during the testing phase, typical normal process and exception process in calling, registering, and messging are enumerated. The results have verified not only the effectiveness of servers in DSN, but alse the effective of DSN support the calling, registering, and multi-service such as messaging.
