The Research And Practice On Non-Function Testing System For Mobile Terminal

Mobile terminal has already been the necessary of people's daily work and life. Beside the basic communication function, variants of service and advanced function are also provided by Smartphone, and now they are already as the key selling point for mobile terminal, such as map navigator, personal information management, multimedia service, phone internet service etc. With the more and more complicated testing object, the aim of the testing is also updated. It is not enough to offer a basic function, it's better to offer a mobile terminal with good performance and reliability. Thus, Non-Function testing s becomes a necessary testing component.Base on above requirements, author design the Non-Function testing system for mobile terminal, and practice in product testing. In this paper, according to software testing characteristic and principle, mobile terminal user behavior, and mobile phone owned software construction, the author develop a couple of Non-function testing methods, including system level stability testing, feature interaction testing, endurance testing, power consumption testing, data throughput testing and response time testing. Those testing mainly focus on performance and reliability areas. In each testing method, it also covers testing requirement analysis, testing logical and physical environment, and test case development principle.Base on above testing system and principle, paper's author build up the testing environment, design testing cases and execution testing with a couple of mobile products. Base on the test result and test data, testing team could find out the deeper hiding or potential bugs, improve the product quality. Also test log help development team to locate the error, reduce the development life cycle. One more, Non-function testing could get a overview picture of mobile terminal performance and stability, it is also comparable with other competition products, it's a good input for market people to define the selling strategy and system designed to optimize architecture. At the end of this paper, author summarizes the mobile terminal non-function testing system, point out the possibility to optimize the current testing system, and look ahead the new areas of non-function testing in coming years.
