Wireless sensor network attracts more and more attentions in China and abroad, it is an area of highly cross-disciplinary research which is a new branch of science, such as medical, mines, transportation, satellite and other fields. Meanwhile, with the expansion of city scale, the city's transportation system is getting more complex. In order to make the city's transportation system more humanized and intelligent, the ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) becomes one of the world's cutting-edge research in the field of transportation topics. Here we are mainly care about the intelligent public transportation network system.This thesis combines the Intelligent Public Transportation System on the basis of wireless sensor network technology. By using the local network and the tack of each bus line to predict the bus arrive time in a station, it abstract the entire intelligent public transportation network system into a Model with statistical methods; Combining the existing wireless routing protocols, also considering the aspects of communication traffics, communication delays and energy consumption, focus on the handoff scene, we brings up the MANET (Mobile Adhoc Network) improved routing algorithm.Firstly this thesis proposes a three level bus framework structure which contains a bus scheduling center (center node), the electronic bus stops (access node) and bus mobile nodes (sensor node).Secondly, through statistical analysis of the empirical data, the whole complex intelligent public transportation network system can be abstracted into a DTN (Distributed Travel Network) model which has some parameters to represent the network routing characteristics. With the statistical law in the model, the bus arrive time can be accurately predicted. This is the premise of route optimization.Thirdly, it realized the routing optimization in the intelligent public transportation network system. Based on the DTN model, we bring up the MANET improved routing algorithm which is more suitable for intelligent public transportation network system.Finally, aiming at the bus handoff communication process, the NS2 simulation proved that using the MANET improved routing algorithm, the handoff delay between two stations are smaller; the energy consumption of the whole intelligent transportation system is lesser than the traditional protocol.
