VTS is not only to ensure navigation safe, improve the efficiency of navigation, and also protect the water environment security. In the VTS radar subsystem, is used in VTS radar, which contains the antenna, two transceiver, control unit, display system and information transmission or data processing subsystems. Marine traffic control radar is slightly different with VTS control radar, the main difference is control unit, marine radar's control unit and the keyboard is limited to local control. In the small river basin, VTS systems use the VTS radar, which leads to relatively higher cost, the system is more complex, so often after the marine applications of radar traffic control system in the small VTS. Throughout the radar subsystem, the control unit occupies a large proportion of the price. This article was studied using marine radar, used a PC as a terminal, radar controller design alternative VTS radar subsystem control unit, to reduce the cost of construction small VTS.In this paper, marine radar to improve the control unit, for example Japan's Furuno radar, reference to the radar research and analysis of control mechanism, design the structure of the radar control station module and achieve the specific function of each module. Radar control station includes:PC, terminal, radar control unit.This paper analyzes the basic structure of the radar, and a detailed description of the reference radar work, order processing form, the form of synchronous pulse control and other important information, finally to the actual measurement collate the data analysis, design workable radar control unit hardware and corresponding software program, with a PC terminal's radar control interactive interface to complete the design of the workstation.In this paper, the design of the radar control station can complete the basic function of marine radar control unit. To deal with radar control command, radar signal processing and radar status. While reducing costs, the VTS is better use of the radar data processing, and on the construction of small ports of high practical value.
