Research Of Service-Oriented Grid Middleware Framework

Grid can integrate computing resources which are different in district, scale and character for working cooperatively, not only make them an entirety having super computing ability, but also allocate the resources to users according to their needs and improve the resources'utilization. Grid middleware is an important part of grid computing, it can shield the underlying resources'heterogeneity and offer unified interfaces to upper applications. As a kind of software, the module reuse in grid middleware is developing to service-oriented from function-oriented.This paper has studied some technical about service-oriented grid middleware, including service-oriented architecture SOA, technical features of Web services, Open Grid Services Architecture OGSA, Web Services Resource Framework WSRF and several middleware products. The relationship between the service-oriented grid middleware and the above-mentioned technical elements are also summed up in this paper.On the basis above, this paper presents a schema for service-oriented grid middleware framework which designs grid middleware framework as a two-layer structure, namely, basic services layer and core service layer, and each layer's operation objects are limited, the core service layer can access the underlying resources only by the way of calling the basic service layer interfaces, compared to the current grid middleware, the hierarchy sense of this paper's design is clearer. This paper also analyzes the basic service layer and the service layer respectively, sums up the functions basic service layer and core service layer should have, and classifies these functions. The core service layer functions are classified into six core services, namely, resource management service, executive management service, grid monitor service, grid security service, information service, data service. When it comes to the interfaces design, this paper defines external interfaces for the six core services and some basic services, and describes the collaborative approach between the services. In addition, during the detailed design of core services, the paper summarizes the running environment each service need to rely on, from the view of middleware developers, focus on the software expansion and describes each core service's internal structure by class diagrams.Finally, this paper gives an experimental schema for the designed service-oriented grid middleware framework, introduces the programming language, the tools needed, and the dependent environments to implement the designed framework, develops a grid resource management middleware using the designed framework and makes use of the middleware to manage grid resource services. Ultimately this paper shows some experimental results.
