With the rapid development of the computer, communication and network, industrial communication technology is in the intelligent and networked direction. In recent years, with the rise of short-range wireless communication technology, wireless technology is gradually infiltrating into the field of industrial control.The limitations of traditional wired communication and the advantages of wireless communication are analyzed. In order to ensure real-time, reliability and other requirements in the industrial field, an industrial wired/wireless hybrid network transmission solution based on Modbus protocol was proposed in the studies of Modbus protocol stack family characteristics. The gateway software and hardware was designed. Meanwhile, it achieves the seamless transmission of data based the Modbus protocol in the wired and wireless network. It provides an effective way for industrial wired/wireless network hybrid transmission and has broad applications.The main tasks of this paper include the following:(1) Analyze the shortage of traditional wired communication network and combined with the characteristics of wireless communication technology, the wired/wireless hybrid network transfer program was presented.(2) The gateway model was proposed based on wired/wireless hybrid network through studying the Modbus protocol stack deeply. The wired/wireless protocol gateway achieving the transmission scheme was designed.(3) In the background of the new wall material production line and the premise to ensure reliability, real-time and cost, system analysis and method selection was done. RS-485 bus was used as the wired communication and ISM radio frequency chip technology was used as the wireless communication.(4) The implementation of wired/wireless gataway was described in detail from the perspective of software and hardware. In the aspect of hardware, the gateway hardware architecture and chip models are determined. Not only can the design requirements be satisfied, but also cost is saved. In the aspect of software, the gateway software of the system is developed by C language. (5) The performance testing and result analysis of industrial wired/wireless gateway were done. Wired communication test and wireless communication test verifid the reliability and stability of the gateway. It provides some basis for the actual application.
