In recent years, embedded system has been developing very quickly. With its low power consumption, small size, low cost, stable performance, easily to install in the field, so the embedded systems gradually access to a wide range applications such as the smart home, industrial site and security technology area.Video surverillance technology is an integrating surverillance technology of internet, media and computer technologies. It is widely used for electric power , traffic and intelligent buildings for its convenience and its abundant information. Most of the traditional vdieo surverillance systems transport by wire, but the wired video surverillance system has been extremely limited in application for the high cost of network cabing and the limitation of monitoring location. There are building complex, long duration, high cost and other issues for microwave, Wi-Fi coverage, satellite and other wireless access. Over the years, we have not found an effective solution in video surverillance. With large-scale construction of 3G networks and commercial, video surveillance increasingly out of time and space constraints, to achieve long-distance and real-time video transmission through 3G technology. And there is a significant upgrade of video signal transmission quality by supporting 2M bps high-bandwidth and make video surverillance possible at any time, any where. Video surverillance system with 3G technology will be the trend in video surverillance market. Research and implement wireless video surverillance system based on 3G technology. Embedded video capture terminal is placed in the monitoring site, capturing video data in real time through the USB camera, using the H.264 video coding standard, and spreading to the monitoring center through the 3G wireless network, to carry out real-time monitoring.Research the embedded system hardware design and development and migration principles of embedded Linux, implement structures of embedded hardware platform and bootloader migration, Linux kernel migration, making the root file system, the realization of the appropriate drivers for hardware modules. Research the vdieo development of embedded Linux and H.264 video compression standard, and design the video capture and compression program in embedded terminal. Analysis and compare of network protocols, design the network transmission program based on UDP according to the characteristics of real-time video transmission. Research and use of socket programming and directshow technology, developed the application of receive and decode video data in real-time on PC, to achieve real-time display of video data, and can save the video file to a local hard disk.
