With the computer and the rapid development of network technology, remote video surveillance technology has developed rapidly. Because of its information-rich, content intuitive, easy to use. Video images are widely used in industrial control, traffic control, security systems, residential security monitoring and other areas. This paper combines the video image data acquisition technology, data compression and TCP/IP network data transmission technologies, designed and implemented the remote video monitoring system based on B/S mode, including: V4L2 video image data acquisition, video image data compression, network transmission of video data, video data input/output modules.System consists of two parts:server and video surveillance video surveillance client. Video surveillance server uses an embedded Linux operating system and Samsung S3C2440AL processor as the core platform software and hardware systems. With the IE browser, client-side access to video surveillance servers and sent video surveillance requests to the server. After video surveillance server receives a client request, the system uses the V4L2 Linux video interface to capture image data, and then the video data using JPEG compression, and finally the compressed video data is transmitted through the Internet to video surveillance client. With the IE browser, the client receives and real-time monitors remote video images. Experimental results show that compared to traditional video surveillance system, the system has outstanding advantages in processing speed, stability, real time, etc., to achieve the expected project design goals.
